What data do we collect?

The website philipleifeld.com stores personal data like the user's IP address in anonymised form for seven days in the log files of the webserver. Additionally, on the page "Praise", it displays personal data users can submit through software solutions as detailed on that sub-page, specifically through the texreg R package. When you submit praise through the software, the answers you submit are stored, along with your IP address and approximate geolocation (as derived from your IP address) for displaying your region on a map. The location is sufficiently broad and will not enable identification of individuals based on the location (unless you provide additional details explicitly). By submitting praise, you agree to the storage of these data in a database on our server.

How do we collect your data?

You directly provide philipleifeld.com with the data you submit through the praise and praise_interactive functions in the texreg R package, which can be accessed through https://github.com/leifeld/texreg. Upon usage of these functions, the website reads and saves your IP address and derives your approximate location from it.

How will we use your data?

The data you submit through the praise function or praise_interactive function in the texreg R package will be displayed on the "Praise" page, along with the location of your region on a world map. Your IP address is not revealed and is only stored for the purpose of generating the location for the map. All data on the "Praise" page may be used for academic purposes, such as quoting your answers or summarising your answers in a report to funders or in publications. By submitting your data through the praise or praise_interactive functions, you agree that the data will be made public and may be re-used for academic purposes.
